Meet Claire and Joe McLellan, your Conservative candidates for Crewe North ward. Two local people who have made Crewe their home, committed to fighting for the issues that matter most to the people who live here.
Claire McLellan
Claire McLellan
Conservative Candidate for Crewe North
Claire has called Crewe home for 23 years and is passionate about the town’s future and the communities that make it special.
Throughout her career, Claire has worked with businesses, colleges and employers to help people develop skills, secure apprenticeships and build successful careers. She believes that opportunity, hard work and strong communities are the foundations of a thriving town.
Claire is not afraid to stand up for residents when it matters. When serious planning and contamination issues emerged at the Coppenhall Place estate, Claire spoke directly to Cheshire East Council on behalf of residents, challenging both the developer and the council over what she described as broken promises and neglect. That experience reinforced her belief that residents deserve representatives who listen, communicate openly and take action.
Having witnessed the decline of parts of Crewe over the years, Claire is determined to help reverse that trend. She wants to see cleaner streets, safer neighbourhoods, better maintained roads, stronger accountability from developers and a council that genuinely listens to local people.
Claire believes local politics should be about people, not point scoring. Her focus is straightforward: listen to residents, work collaboratively to solve problems and deliver practical improvements that make a real difference to everyday life.
Joe McLellan
Joe McLellan
Conservative Candidate for Crewe North
Joe has been a proud resident of Crewe for 30 years and is standing for Crewe North because he cares deeply about the community and its future.
With nearly a decade as Sales Manager at Escalla, one of the UK’s leading apprenticeship training providers, Joe has spent his career creating opportunities for young people and working with businesses to build skilled, motivated workforces. He is genuinely passionate about apprenticeships as a route to meaningful careers, and understands first-hand the difference that the right training and employer support can make to a young person’s life.
Joe’s priorities as a councillor are practical and resident-led. He is committed to challenging poor workmanship on pothole repairs, keeping streets clean, protecting valued green spaces and pushing for stronger enforcement against fly-tipping and littering. He will also hold refuse services to account for missed collections, ensuring residents receive the reliable services they rightly expect.
Joe believes in holding Cheshire East Council to account where services fall short. Whether it is the condition of roads, the cleanliness of streets, the protection of local green spaces or the delivery of essential services, he will work to make sure Crewe North gets the attention it deserves.
Joe is committed to being an accessible, hardworking councillor who stands up for local residents and helps make Crewe North an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
