Crewe North is an expanded ward created following the Cheshire East boundary review, bringing together the former Crewe North and Crewe Central wards into a single two-councillor ward. The new ward is home to approximately 8,000 residents in the north and centre of Crewe, and takes effect at the May 2027 Cheshire East elections.

About the New Crewe North Ward
The new Crewe North ward was confirmed following the Local Government Boundary Commission for England’s review of Cheshire East electoral arrangements. The ward absorbs the former Crewe Central ward, with a minor boundary adjustment at Remer Street — the boundary now runs to the rear of properties on that street rather than along Sydney Road.
The ward will elect two councillors and covers approximately 8,000 residents in the north and central areas of Crewe, including the town centre, Hightown, Coppenhall, Underwood Lane and the surrounding communities.
The changes take effect at the May 2027 local elections under The Cheshire East (Electoral Changes) Order 2026.
